GIVING VISION, CREATING INSIGHT

A young man almost lost his eyesight after a terrible accident while playing football. His education was at stake due to his fading vision but luckily for him, he was diagnosed to have cataracts which were later corrected with surgery. He was lucky but what about millions of other young visually impaired Nigerians and Africans who could not get their defects treated or corrected? They end up giving up their dreams and become burdens to the family or society. According to WHO’s Global data report on Visual impairment about 26.2 million people are visually impaired in Africa. This is a lot of people suffering from discomfort due to their condition, especially the young ones who miss out on education because of their inability to read and navigate their environment. How many end up lucky like the young man in this story? Few! The young man's experience sparked a thought in him to assist people that are in the condition he has once been in. This young man is a CO-FOUNDER at Vinsighte.

How Vinsighte Inspires me

Vinsighte was founded to help millions of Africans cure or subside vision impairment. They target kids and youths because they want them to complete their education and learn comfortably. This is an inspiration for me because as a growing robotics engineer, I would also love to impact lives and seeing the level of acceptance and effectiveness. It tells me that I can do better or also contribute. Vinsighte also considers the market they target and make their products very affordable. This is another inspiration_ Influence before affluence. And being someone that has once been diagnosed with an eye disease, I have learnt to spread the message Save your sight, Tomorrow is bright.
